Some Things Come Disguised
Two Angels pretending to be people asked to stay in a wealthy
man`s home. The man, looking at the shabby looking people/angels,
said yes, hesitantly. He led them to the basement, where it was
cold and damp and
there were two cots set up. The angels didn`t go to sleep right
then, though. One fixed a hole in the wall of the basement and
laid down on the cot. The other asked him, why did you do that?
The angel replied,
"Some things come disguised"
Then he fell
asleep.
The next day, the Angels went to a poor family`s home and asked
to spend the night. The family immediatley invited them in and
fed them dinner. The angels thanked them and went to bed in the
kitchen. When asked what was wrong, they replied,
"Our best cow, Bessy, has died".
One angel pulled the other aside and said,
"You fixed that wealthy
man`s home and you let these nice people`s, who have given us
all they have, cow die?"
The angel replied, "Some things come
disguised. Last night, I saw gold hidden in that crack in the
wall, I sealed it up, never to be found. Then, early this
morning, the Death Angel came, wanting the farmer`s wife. I told
him, no, take the cow instead. So you see, some things come
disguised."
