Attractions Of Light And Dark
Day after day, I sit staring into the world,
Feeling as if my mind has been severely twirled.
The shortcut of darkness is trying to kill,
But the long road of lightness is telling me to fulfill.
I took the shortcut once before in my past,
But i failed, and the long road brought me in fast.
He convinced me not to take the easy way out,
So I kept listening for awhile until darkness started to shout.
He kept saying things that encouraged me to be self-destructive,
But then the lightness came in and became instructive.
I was alright for a while, but the darkness took its turn,
And he asked me why I thought the lightness was being so concerned.
Then the lightness came in, demanding an explanation,
He wanted to know why a shortcut is a destination.
The darkness was appalled, he didn't have a solution,
He just figured that people would want an execution.
The lightness took me away, away from this thing,
Because he thought I could do better, and I didn't need this sting.
You are my lightness, my long road away from the shortcut,
You took me away, made the darker door shut.
I never thought I'd make it through, until you found me.
You are my lightness, my long road, my trail to reality.
As long as we're together, I won't hear from him anymore,
because I am safe inside of you, behind a locked door.
